ญี่ปุ่นเตรียมวัคซีนโควิดเข็มที่ 3 ปีหน้า สั่งจอง 'โนวาแวกซ์' แล้ว

รัฐบาลญี่ปุ่นเริ่มศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ที่จะฉีดวัคซีนป้องกันโรคโควิด-19 เข็มที่ 3 ให้กับประชาชนในราวปีหน้า โดยได้สั่งจองวัคซีน "โนวาแวกซ์" และ "โมเดอนา" เตรียมไว้แล้ว

นายทาโร โคโนะ รัฐมนตรีที่รับผิดชอบเรื่องวัคซีนโควิดของญี่ปุ่น เปิดเผยว่า ได้เจรจาเพื่อสั่งจองวัคซีนโมเดอนาเพิ่มเติมอีก 50 ล้านโดส และวัคซีนโนวาแวกซ์ 150 ล้านโดส โดยจะส่งมอบในต้นปีหน้า

รัฐบาลญี่ปุ่นกำลังติดตามตัวอย่างของประเทศต่าง ๆ ที่ฉีดวัคซีนกระตุ้นเพิ่มเติมให้ประชาชน เช่น อิสราเอลที่ฉีดวัคซีนเข็มที่ 3 ให้กับผู้สูงอายุ 60 ปีขึ้นไป ส่วนเยอรมนี สวีเดน และอังกฤษก็เตรียมจะทำเช่นเดียวกันในราวเดือนกันยายน

รัฐบาลญี่ปุ่นจะตัดสินใจว่าจำเป็นต้องฉีดวัคซีนเข็มกระตุ้นหรือไม่ โดยรวบรวมผลการทดลองทางคลินิกในต่างประเทศ ทั้งเรื่องกลุ่มคนที่จำเป็นต้องรับวัคซีนกระตุ้น และการใช้วัคซีนจากต่างบริษัทกับวัคซีนเข็มที่ 1 และ 2 ซึ่งในญี่ปุ่นใช้วัคซีนของไฟเซอร์ และโมเดอนาเป็นหลัก



ญี่ปุ่นเริ่มฉีดวัคซีนโควิดในเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ ขณะนี้ผู้สูงอายุราว 80.0% ได้รับวัคซีนครบ 2 เข็มแล้ว แต่คนหนุ่มสาวส่วนใหญ่ยังไม่ได้รับวัคซีน และเป็นกลุ่มที่ติดเชื้อมากที่สุดในขณะนี้ รัฐบาลญี่ปุ่นคาดว่าจะสามารถฉีดวัคซีนครบ 2 เข็มให้กับประชาชนทุกคนได้ภายในเดือนตุลาคม-พฤศจิกายน ปีนี้ และกำลังติดตามผลข้างเคียงของวัคซีน รวมทั้งประสิทธิผลในการป้องกันไวรัสกลายพันธุ์

บริษัทโมเดอนาได้ระบุเมื่อวันที่ 5 ส.ค. ว่า วัคซีนของตนสามารถคงภูมิคุ้มกันได้ที่ระดับ 93% นาน 6 เดือนหลังฉีดเข็มที่ 2 พร้อมชี้ว่าอาจมีความจำป็นต้องฉีดวัคซีนกระตุ้นเข็มที่ 3 เพื่อการปกป้องไวรัสกลายพันธุ์หลังจากที่ภูมิคุ้มกันลดน้อยลง

อย่างไรก็ตาม นายทีโดส อัดฮานอม กรีบีเยซุส ผู้อำนวยการใหญ่องค์การอนามัยโลก หรือ WHO เรียกร้องให้ประเทศร่ำรวยต่าง ๆ ระงับโครงการฉีดวัคซีนกระตุ้นไว้ก่อนจนถึงสิ้นเดือนกันยายน เพราะผู้คนหลายล้านคนในประเทศกำลังพัฒนายังไม่ได้รับวัคซีนแม้แต่เข็มเดียว.
