วันที่ 27 กันยายน 2564 นางสาวขัตติยา อินทรวิชัย ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร กล่าวภายใน "Sustainable Thailand 2021 รวมพลังนักลงทุนสถาบันและภาคร่วมกันประกาศเจตจำนงร่วมสร้างประเทศไทยยั่งยืน" ภายในหัวข้อ "บทบาทของธนาคารกสิกรไทย ในการขับเคลื่อนธุรกิจบนหลักการธนาคารแห่งความยั่งยืน" ว่า ธนาคารกสิกรไทยได้ดำเนินธุรกิจโดยให้ความสำคัญกับสิ่งแวดล้อม ทั้งการควบคุมภายในและการบริหารความเสี่ยง เพื่อให้เกิดความโปร่งใส

โดยการดำเนินธุรกิจภายใต้กรอบความยั่งยืนจะต้องมีใบอนุญาต (License) 2 แบบ คือ 1.ใบอนุญาตทางธนาคารที่ดำเนินธุรกิจตามกฎหมาย และ 2.ใบอนุญาตทางสังคม โดยการร้างผลกำไรอย่างยั่งยืน แม้จะต้องเจ็บปวดระยะสั้น เพื่อความยั่งยืนระยะยาว ซึ่งในช่วงที่ผ่านมาในสถานการณ์ระบาดของโควิด-19 ธนาคารได้ให้ความช่วยเหลือลูกค้าในการประคอง และปรับเปลี่ยนธุรกิจ เพื่อให้ลูกค้าและธุรกิจสามารถฝ่าฟันธุรกิจหลังโควิด-19 ได้
ทั้งนี้ วาระเร่งด่วนของการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ เพื่อบรรเทาและลดผลกระทบ ซึ่งถือเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของสังคมโลกในการดำเนินตามกฎหมาย โดยมีหลายประเทศและหลายองค์กรประกาศตั้งเป้าเป็นคาร์บอนเป็นศูนย์ภายใน 20-30 ปีข้างหน้า เช่นเดียวกับภาคอุตสาหกรรมธนาคารที่มีธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย (ธปท.) ในการสนับสนุนในการกำกับดูแล และมีการร่วมมือระหว่างสมาชิกภายใต้สมาคมธนาคารไทย และคณะกรรมการกำกับหลักทรัพย์และตลาดหลักทรัพย์ (ก.ล.ต.) ได้มีการส่งเสริมให้บริษัทที่จดทะเบียนรายงานตามเกณฑ์สังคม สิ่งแวดล้อม และบรรษัทภิบาล (ESG)
"การธนาคารที่มีความยั่งยืน โดยมีการนำเรื่องการเปลี่ยนแปลงภูมิอากาศเข้ามา รวมถึงการเปิดเผยข้อมูลเรื่องสิ่งแวดล้อม และการส่งเสริมการทำธุรกิจที่คาร์บอนเป็นศูนย์ โดยทำตามโมเดล ESG ซึ่งตั้งแต่ไตรมาส 4 ปี 63 เราเครดิต 100% ต้องผ่านเรื่อง ESG มีการจัดการเรื่องสิ่งแวดล้อม เพื่อทำธุรกิจไปสู่ความยั่งยืน โดยนอกจากทำให้ดีขึ้น เราต้องทำมากขึ้นด้วย"
