น้อยคนนักจะรู้ว่าเบื้องหลังสังเวียนนักสู้ของ "กัปปิตัน เพชรยินดีอะคาเดมี" แชมป์โลก ONE คิกบ็อกซิ่ง รุ่นแบนตัมเวต ที่กำลังจะลงศึกป้องแชมป์ใน ONE: REVOLUTION (https://www.chat-nablus.com/Guestpost/) 24 ก.ย. นี้ ยังมีอีกหนึ่งฝันอันสูงสุดของชีวิตลูกผู้ชาย นั่นคือการรับใช้ชาติในฐานะทหารประจำหน่วยบัญชาการสงครามพิเศษทางเรือ กองเรือยุทธการ หรือที่เรียกกันทั่วไปว่า "หน่วยซีล"
นอกเหนือจากการทำหน้าที่นักกีฬาใน ONE แล้ว กัปปิตัน ยังมีตำแหน่งเป็นอาสาสมัครทหารพรานประจำกรมทหารพรานที่ 26 ค่ายปักธงชัย กองทัพภาคที่ 2 จ.นครราชสีมา มาตั้งแต่ปี 2559 โดยรับหน้าที่เป็นนักกีฬาตัวแทนต้นสังกัดลงแข่งขันในกีฬาภายในกองทัพบกที่จัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปี
จุดเริ่มต้นของชีวิตชายชาติทหารของ กัปปิตัน เริ่มต้นเมื่อขาอายุครบ 21 ปี ซึ่งเขาถูกเกณฑ์ทหารรับใช้ชาติตามหน้าที่ของชายไทยทั่วไป ในตอนนั้น ครูฝึกรู้ว่า กัปปิตัน เป็นนักมวยฝีมือดีจึงสนับสนุนให้ลงแข่งขันชกมวยไทยสมัครเล่นและมวยสากลสมัครเล่น โดยเขาสามารถคว้ารางวัลมากมาย เช่น เหรียญทองมวยสากลสมัครเล่น รุ่น 69 กก. 2 ปีซ้อน (2560 – 2561) และเหรียญทองมวยไทยสมัครเล่น รุ่น 71 กก.ในปี 2562
ในฐานะที่มีประสบการณ์การฝึกทหารเกณฑ์มาแล้วและมีโอกาสได้เห็นการฝึกและการทำงานของทหารเหล่าอื่น กัปปิตัน รู้สึกชื่นชมหน่วยซีลของกองทัพเรือเป็นพิเศษ เพราะเป็นหน่วยที่ได้รับการฝึกฝนอย่างเข้มข้นและหนักที่สุดในบรรดาหน่วยรบพิเศษของทุกเหล่าทัพ โดยทหารหน่วยนี้ได้ชื่อว่ามีขีดความสามารถเหนือทหารทั่วไป
กัปปิตัน จึงอยากมีโอกาสได้สัมผัสความท้าทายแบบนั้นบ้าง โดยเขาเผยว่า 'ตอนผมเป็นทหารเกณฑ์ ผมว่าก็ฝึกหนักแล้ว แต่เป็นที่รู้กันว่าหน่วยซีลฝึกหนักและโหดกว่ามาก จึงไม่ค่อยมีใครอยากไปฝึก ผมก็เลยอยากรู้และอยากลองบ้างว่าจะหนักสักแค่ไหน'
'ที่สำคัญ ทหารหน่วยซีล ถือว่ามีเกียรติสูงสุดเพราะคนที่จะผ่านการฝึกได้ต้องเก่งรอบด้านและแข็งแกร่งจริง ๆ เท่านั้น ถ้ามีโอกาส ผมก็อยากได้ลองฝึกและถ้าเป็นทหารหน่วยซีลจริง ๆ ก็คงจะดีมากครับ'
