วันนี้(3ก.ย.) นพ.ยง ภู่วรวรรณ หัวหน้าศูนย์เชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะทางด้านไวรัสวิทยา คลินิกภาควิชากุมารเวชศาสตร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย โพสต์เฟซบุ๊ก Yong Poovorawan โดยระบุว่า จากการระบาดของสายพันธุ์เดลต้า กระจายไปทั่วโลกอย่างรวดเร็ว
ประเทศที่ฉีดวัคซีนเป็นจำนวนมาก 80 เปอร์เซ็นต์ในผู้ใหญ่แล้วเช่น อิสราเอลซึ่งมีประชากรเพียง 9 ล้านคน ก็มีผู้ป่วยต่อวันเป็นพันและเข้าสู่หลักหมื่นแล้ว เมื่อเปรียบเทียบต่อประชากรแล้ว มากกว่าประเทศไทยเสียอีก
ในอเมริกาเอง ก็มากกว่าแสนต่อวันแล้ว อัตราการเสียชีวิตลดลง ก็ยังวันละ ประมาณ 1,000 จากข้อมูล CDC's COVID Data Tracker วันที่ 2 กันยายน มีผู้ป่วยใหม่ 153,728 คน เสียชีวิต 1209 ราย
ประเทศไทยเองก็เป็นสายพันธุ์ไวรัส Delta เกือบทั้งหมด มาเป็นเดือนแล้ว วัคซีนที่ใช้อยู่ในโลกนี้ จะลดประสิทธิภาพในการป้องกันลง แต่ยังสามารถลดความรุนแรงของโรคได้ และลดอัตราการเสียชีวิต
ขณะนี้ผู้ที่เสียชีวิตส่วนใหญ่เป็นผู้ที่ยังไม่ได้รับวัคซีน เราจึงต้องรีบให้วัคซีนในกลุ่มเสี่ยง และสตรีตั้งครรภ์
เรายังมีความหวังว่า ถ้าอัตราการให้วัคซีนเป็นอย่างขณะนี้ และมีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้น เราก็สามารถที่จะลดอัตราการเสียชีวิตลงได้
ทีมของเรายังมุ่งมั่นในการทำการศึกษาวิจัย การใช้วัคซีนตามทรัพยากรที่เรามีอยู่ ให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด การศึกษาวิจัยขณะนี้ กำลังศึกษาว่าจะให้ เข็มที่ 3 อย่างไรจึงจะมีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด และใช้ทรัพยากรที่น้อยที่สุด ที่จะป้องกันสายพันธุ์ที่เปลี่ยนไป
เพื่อเตรียมรองรับการให้วัคซีนเข็มที่ 3 ที่จะต้องใช้ในอนาคตอย่างแน่นอน
