ราคาทองฟิวเจอร์ ปิดวันศุกร์ (13ส.ค.)พุ่งขึ้น 1.4% ปิดเหนือระดับ 1,770 ดอลลาร์โดยได้ปัจจัยหนุนจากการอ่อนค่าของดอลลาร์ และการร่วงลงของอัตราผลตอบแทนพันธบัตรรัฐบาลสหรัฐ

นอกจากนี้ นักลงทุนยังเข้าซื้อทองในฐานะสินทรัพย์ปลอดภัย ท่ามกลางความกังวลเกี่ยวกับการแพร่ระบาดของไวรัสโควิด-19

สัญญาทองคำตลาดโคเม็กซ์ ส่งมอบเดือนธ.ค. ดีดตัวขึ้น 1.4% ปิดที่ราคา 1,775.80 ดอลลาร์/ออนซ์

ทั้งนี้ ดอลลาร์ที่อ่อนค่าจะเพิ่มความน่าดึงดูดของทอง โดยทำให้สัญญาทองมีราคาถูกลงสำหรับผู้ถือครองเงินสกุลอื่น ส่วนการร่วงลงของอัตราผลตอบแทนพันธบัตรรัฐบาลสหรัฐ จะช่วยลดต้นทุนค่าเสียโอกาสในการถือครองทองคำ เนื่องจากทองคำเป็นสินทรัพย์ที่ไม่มีผลตอบแทนในรูปดอกเบี้ย


อย่างไรก็ดี ราคาทองมีแนวโน้มร่วงลงในสัปดาห์นี้ ท่ามกลางความไม่แน่นอนเกี่ยวกับการคุมเข้มนโยบายการเงินของธนาคารกลางสหรัฐ (เฟด)

นักลงทุนจับตาการประชุมประจำปีของเฟดที่เมืองแจ็กสัน โฮล รัฐไวโอมิง ในวันที่ 26-28 ส.ค.

ทั้งนี้ คาดว่าเฟดจะส่งสัญญาณที่ชัดเจนมากขึ้นเกี่ยวกับทิศทางอัตราดอกเบี้ย รวมทั้งแนวโน้มการปรับลดวงเงินในการซื้อพันธบัตรตามมาตรการผ่อนคลายเชิงปริมาณ (คิวอี) ในการประชุมดังกล่าว

การประชุมที่เมืองแจ็กสัน โฮลในปีนี้ จะเป็นการประชุมแบบพบหน้ากัน หลังจากที่เมื่อปีที่แล้ว เฟดต้องจัดการประชุมผ่านระบบวิดีโอคอนเฟอเรนซ์ครั้งแรกในรอบเกือบ 40 ปี เพื่อลดความเสี่ยงจากการแพร่ระบาดของไวรัสโควิด-19

ที่ผ่านมา การประชุมที่เมืองแจ็กสัน โฮล ถือเป็นการประชุมที่ได้รับความสนใจอย่างมาก โดยมีผู้ว่าการธนาคารกลาง รัฐมนตรีคลัง นักวิชาการ และผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการเงิน จากประเทศต่างๆทั่วโลก เดินทางเข้าร่วมการประชุม ขณะที่ไฮไลท์จะอยู่ที่การกล่าวปาฐกถาของประธานเฟดในขณะนั้นเพื่อแสดงวิสัยทัศน์เกี่ยวกับนโยบายการเงินของเฟด และแนวโน้มเศรษฐกิจสหรัฐ

นักวิเคราะห์คาดการณ์ไทม์ไลน์ของเฟดว่า เฟดจะเริ่มปรับลดคิวอีในเดือนม.ค.2565 โดยจะปรับลดวงเงินคิวอีเดือนละ 20,000 ล้านดอลลาร์ จากปัจจุบันที่เฟดทำคิวอีวงเงิน 120,000 ล้านดอลลาร์/เดือน ซึ่งจะทำให้เฟดใช้เวลา 6 เดือนในการปรับลดคิวอีจนเหลือ 0 หมายความว่าเฟดจะยุติการทำคิวอีโดยสิ้นเชิงในช่วงกลางปี 2565 และเฟดจะพักการดำเนินการเป็นเวลา 1 ปีเพื่อให้ตลาดปรับตัว ก่อนที่จะทำการปรับขึ้นอัตราดอกเบี้ยในช่วงครึ่งหลังของปี 2566
